I want to thank every single one of you for going along on this writing journey with me. Putting myself out there on the regular isn’t easy, as ballsy as I may act like I am, but with amazing people like all of you by my side, it’s so much easier to be brave.
I love you guys.
Oh man, I wish to hell I could afford to give you all a holiday gift, but I’m no millionaire, so the only thing I can afford to give every single one of you is my music. SO, here’s my present for you: ‘I Believe In Father Christmas’, a tune by Greg Lake (RIP) of Emerson Lake and Palmer, covered by the Heavy Sixes, my band with my husband.
Now, it’s a bit raw, mostly because during recording I was/am SI I I IIIIIII I I I I I I I I IIII I I ICK AF, but I couldn’t NOT do our annual holiday tune, so it is what it is, y’all. It was made with love, with help from our friend and gifted guitarist, Nick Garba, and as the lyrics say:
“I wish you a hopeful Christmas,
I wish you a brave New Year,
that all anger, pain, and sadness leave your heart and let your road be clear.
They said there’d be peace at Christmas,
they said there’d be peace on Earth.
Hallelujah, noel, be it heaven or hell (and 2017 was hell),
The Christmas we get, we deserve.”
I know that every single one of you deserves every good thing in the world this holiday season.
See you in the New Year, you beautiful, beautiful people.
